My Crown (Written for Brittany Brandt)

Brittany Brandt's story is complex, but I wanted to lean into her WHEN Story when she spoke bravely about trichotillomania. She pulled her hair out until there were bald spots and eventually had the courage to shave her head and began wearing wigs. The idea of a "crown" I felt was symbolic around beauty standards. In the song I wanted it to show how Brittany "owns" the crown but doesn't feel like she has to wear it. Just as she shares about wearing wigs and sometimes going without them. She's beautiful (owns the crown) no matter what.
