Pieces of I (Written for Susan LePlae Miller)

Susan LePlae Miller's business is called Piece of I, so I wanted to have a little fun with that, but also felt because of her story - it needed to be more of a ballad. As soon as I saw she listed Fleetwood Mac on her form, I knew what direction this had to go. It felt like it needed to be more of a folky singer-songwriter vibe with lots of layered harmonies. And when I thought about Pieces of I, I had the thought about a mirrorball and how its made up of all these broken pieces to make something beautiful that reflects out to the world, so I played around with some metaphors in the song. I hope you can feel and hear those.
