We the Unruly (Written for Jen Vertanen)

We the Unruly is a phenomenal community built by Jen Vertanen. It’s all about being unapologetically YOU, coloring outside the lines and being 100% inclusive. I knew going in, I wanted to make sure this song said all the things Jen wanted to portray for her community. She gave some great examples of styles and songs that stood out to her. Knowing that - I felt this had to be an anthem but not too dancey or too pop. She mentioned she wanted empowerment with some grit, so I added a bit of hip hop vibes in verse 2. I’m so happy Jen loved how her anthem turned out for her community.
